Overview of Program
The Explorer Program provides young men and women from the City of Wilmington, ages 14 through 20, with an up close, hands on experience of the fire service. Explorers are responsible for the operation of the post and are advised by the officers and firefighters of the Wilmington Fire Department. Training is accomplished through live training evolutions and through classroom lectures. Meetings are held twice a month from September through May at one of the city’s fire stations.
