“We, as a society, must aggressively address the needs of our youth. We are now engaged in a struggle to save our children. Yes, we must manage our city in a responsible way. Yes, we must provide excellent core services. But to deny our proactive obligations regarding social services and education issues, relating to our youth, is absolutely wrong. Getting our youth through these troubled times, as our society has changed dramatically over the last four decades, is truly America’s civil and human rights battle. May God bless you, and have a safe and prosperous year.”
