Wilmington’s Annual Electric Fan Donation Drive helps elderly Wilmingtonians cope with the hot and humid summer weather. Th City’s Office of Emergency Management accepts new electric fans or cash contributions for the purchase of fans. Electric fans may be dropped off at any of Wilmington’s six fire stations after residents have telephoned ahead to make drop-of arrangements.

Monetary donations (checks or money orders) are accepted year-round. Make checks/money orders payable to “Wilmington Electric Fan Drive.” Donations of electric fans are accepted June through August.

New electric fans are distributed throughout the summer to elderly City residents
with assistance of several local social service agencies and community centers. Elderly City residents who are in need of a fan may call the City’s Constituent Services Office at (302) 576-CITY (576-2489) or e-mail the office at cityhelp@WilmingtonDE.gov.

The Wilmington Electric Fan Drive runs June through August.
