Baker Administration Accomplishments

Mayor Baker released a 10-year accomplishments report as part of his FY2012 State of the City address to highlight what City government, as well as citizens and organizations through the City, have accomplished together over the past decade. These efforts have supported the growth of neighborhoods, the downtown and riverfront district, and new and existing businesses. The Mayor said residents can be proud of the national awards the City has earned which demonstrate Wilmington’s leading role in neighborhood preservation, recycling, Combined Sewer Overflow remediation and energy conservation.

“We are in the final two years of this Administration, and it is easy to lose sight of what we have achieved in the first 10 years, especially when our immediate focus is on current economic conditions and other problems,” said Mayor Baker. “I express my sincere thanks and appreciation for the collective efforts that have made Wilmington a stronger and more exciting City. It is a City that is prepared to accomplish even more in the years ahead."
