Sixth District Working Group

The 6th District Working Group is a community and government partnership in Wilmington, Delaware composed of residents and city employees, who are focusing on the issues and concerns involving the 6th District.

The 6th District boundaries are from MLK/ Lancaster to Broom and Broom to 2nd and 2nd to Union and Union to the City line. Councilman Kevin Kelley has made a commitment to continued stabilization of the 6th District as well as increasing the quality of life for all residents of the 6th District.

The working group was created in November 2001. The goal of the group is to identify and address problems throughout the neighborhood. The specific problems are placed into a monthly spreadsheet, which is then sent to each appropriate department head throughout the City. Each department head provides a monthly update, which is prepared and given to the residents. The residents of the 6th district provide the majority of the issues on the worksheet. The primary issues fall within the department of license and inspection, public works and public safety.

The 6th District Working Group web page will keep you apprised of the continuing efforts of this group, and will serve as a link for information and cooperation among residents of the 6th district. As this partnership works throughout the year to bring new life and energy to this area of Wilmington, we encourage you to visit the web site on a regular basis, and witness the improvements of the neighborhood.
