Plowing and Transporting of Snow Continues in Wilmington; Curbside Recycling Postponed on Monday; City of Wilmington Offices Open Monday at 10:00 a.m.
We have four important updates for you this evening regarding the City of Wilmington’s Storm Clean-up efforts and Monday morning rush hour traffic.
- The plowing and transporting of snow continued today in Wilmington and will continue throughout the day on Monday. Most major streets are passable, although the City continues to clear both major and secondary arteries.
- Motorists are urged to use extreme caution tonight and on Monday morning during the first rush hour after the weekend storm. Motorists are advised to allow extra time for travel. Some thru lanes into the City are still being cleared, and some on-street parking areas are not available. Travelers are advised to consider using Downtown parking garages.
- Curbside recycling, scheduled for East of Interstate 95 on Monday, is postponed. An announcement will be made on Monday regarding the recycling and trash collection schedule for the remainder of the week.
- City of Wilmington government offices will open Monday at 10:00 a.m. Employees should report one hour later than their normal starting time. All essential personnel should report on time.
Citizens can tune to the City’s television station, WITN, Channel 22 on the Comcast Network or log onto the City’s website, www.WilmingtonDE.gov for updated information.
- Citizens should call 911 for all matters of an emergency nature.
- Citizens may call 576-3879 with any non-emergency inquiries. This phone number is answered with a recorded prompt; simply press one of the available options and you will be connected to a live operator.
