City to Offer Lifeguard Training

Do you know someone interested in working as a lifeguard this summer?

The City of Wilmington’s Department of Parks and Recreation will provide two lifeguard training courses at the William “Hicks” Anderson Community Center—one in March (March 13, 14, 20 and 21) and one in April (April 10, 11, 17, 18). Each class consists of four sessions, which meet from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day. Attendance at every class is required. The course costs $250; full scholarships are available if you agree to work at a pool operated by the City of Wilmington this summer.

In preparation for the training classes, Parks and Recreation is also providing free hour-long conditioning sessions at William “Hicks” Anderson Community Center every Monday through Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. up until April 10.

The William “Hicks” Anderson Community Center is located at 501 N. Madison Street in West Center City. Interested candidates should register at www.lifeguardjobs.net or call 302-576-3810 to receive additional information.
