Man Victim of Franklin Street Shooting

On January 1st, 2008 at approximately 4:40 p.m., Wilmington Police were dispatched to the Wilmington Hospital for a victim of a gunshot wound. When officers arrived, they were informed that a 23 year old male city resident had just walked into the Hospital suffering from a gunshot wound to his left arm.

According to the victim, he was in the 100 block of South Franklin Street when he was approached by three individuals only described as young males wearing dark clothing all brandishing handguns. The suspects demanded the victim’s money. When the victim handed over his cell phone and money, the suspects then tried to remove his watch from his wrist. When the victim resisted, he was shot once in his left arm. The victim was able to then get away and be driven to the Wilmington Hospital.
