Wednesday afternoon, January 2, 2008 at approximately 2:45 p.m., Wilmington Police responded to a report of a 13 year old being approached by a suspicious man. The female victim in this case reports that she was walking home from her bus stop at Pennsylvania Avenue and Woodlawn Streets, when she was approached by a black male about 28-35 years of age driving a black Lexus. While she was in the 1000 block of Bancroft Parkway, when the man called to her saying, “Come here.” According to the victim, this happened twice. She ignored the man and went into the Woodlawn Library for a few minutes until the car left. As she left the library, the car reappeared and the subject pulled up next to her asking her name and age. Luckily the victim lived close by and was able to run home.
The suspect is described as a heavily built black male, 28-35 years old, bald, wearing a black tee shirt.
