Shooting 22nd & Pine Streets

On Sunday, January 20, 2008 at approximately 10:30 p.m., Wilmington Police responded to the area of 22nd & Pine Streets in regards to a shots fired complaint. As officers were attempting to locate a scene, a call came in from the Wilmington Hospital in reference to a gunshot victim who had just arrived. The 46 year old Wilmington man stated that he was walking in the area with his girlfriend when a car drove past them on Pine Street. An unknown person fired several shots from inside the car and it drove away. The victim suffered a single gunshot wound to his lower left back area and was transported to the Wilmington Hospital by private vehicle. He was later transferred the Christiana Hospital where he was listed in critical but stable condition.

The vehicle was described as a light blue or grey Toyota, possibly a 1983 or 1984 model. There is no suspect information.
