On Wednesday evening, January 23, 2008 at approximately 10:30 p.m., Wilmington Police responded to the area of 22nd & Spruce Streets in regards to a shots fired complaint. There, officers were flagged down by a resident who directed them to a victim lying on a front porch in the block. He apparently was suffering from a single gunshot wound to his upper leg area. Paramedics arrived and transported the 29 year old Wilmington man to the Christiana Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
At this time there is no suspect information. If anyone has information, they are asked to call Wilmington Detective Eugene Solge at 302-576-3656 of 911. Callers may remain anonymous.
