On January 27, 2008 at approximately 1:45 a.m., Wilmington Police responded to the 300 block of South Market Street on a complaint of shots being fired. On their arrival officers found numerous spent shell casings in a parking lot, but, no victims. It was discovered, shortly thereafter, the two victims of this shooting had been transported to area hospitals by private vehicle.
The first victim, a 22 year old Wilmington man, suffered a gunshot wound to the neck. He was admitted into the Christiana Hospital – his condition is not known at this time. The second victim, a 19 year old Wilmington female, suffered a graze wound to her right shoulder. She was treated and released in good condition.
There is no suspect information at this time.
