On January 27, 2008 at approximately 3:50 a.m., Wilmington Police Officers were dispatched to the 1203 N. Locust Street on a complaint of shots being fired. On their arrival, officers found the victim, a 40 year old Wilmington man, unconscious, lying on the floor of a restroom. It appeared the victim had suffered a gunshot wound to the head. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
There is no suspect information at this time.
Detectives are requesting anyone with information concerning this incident to please contact Detective George Pigford at 302-576-3643.
The investigation is continuing.
Wilmington detectives have identified the homicide victim as 40-year-old Christopher Palmer of the 2700 block of Boulevard Road, just south of Wilmington. As of this writing, there are no investigative updates.
As to the investigation of the building operating as an unlicensed nightclub, Wilmington’s Department of Licenses and Inspections has been notified by this department.
