Suspect Arrested in Shooting Involving Wilmington Police Officer

Wilmington Police detectives have announced the arrest of the suspect from the Thursday, February 4, 2010 robbery/police involved shooting.

Twenty-one-year-old Eric T. Howell, Jr., of the unit block of Queen Circle in Newark, DE, was arrested at approximately 8:00 p.m. this evening at the Christiana Hospital where he is recovering from a wound he sustained during the robbery. Howell was charged with the following offenses:

• Murder 2nd Degree (Felony)
• Robbery 1st Degree (Felony)
• Attempted Robbery 1st Degree (Felony)
• 3 counts of Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony (Felony)
• Aggravated Menacing (Felony)

Howell was arraigned at the hospital and turned over to the custody of the Department of Corrections in lieu of $1,000,000 bail.

Due to investigative purposes, Howell’s photo is being withheld until a later date.
