In the continuing investigation into the fatal accident on Saturday, January 9, 2010 of a 9 year old Wilmington child, Wilmington traffic investigators are reporting the scene of the accident as the intersection of 25th & Jessup Streets. The vehicle then proceeded south on Jessup Street, west onto 24th Street and then south on Lamotte Street, coming to rest approximately 15-20 feet north of the intersection of 23rd & Lamotte Streets. The driver of the 1991 Chevrolet Caprice Classic was a 17 year old female New Castle County resident. She has been identified as well as 3 passengers. All parties have given statement at police headquarters. The investigation is continuing and criminal/traffic charges will be pending a review of the case by the State’s Attorney General’s Office.
