Shooting 22nd & Monroe Streets

This afternoon, Thursday, January 21, 2010 at approximately 2:39 p.m., Wilmington Police were called to a house in the 500 block of W. 21st Street in regards to a shooting that had just occurred. There, officers located a 17 year old Wilmington teen suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his stomach area. The shooting occurred at 22nd & Monroe Streets during an apparent robbery according to the preliminary investigation. After the shooting, the victim made his way to the house on 21st Street. He was transported to the Christiana Hospital where he is currently undergoing surgery and is in critical condition.

There is no suspect information as of this writing.

The investigation is in the very early stages and is continuing.
