VII. Miscellaneous

The second- floor AC unit at RM needed to be replaced during the week of 100 -degree temperature days. We solicited several bids and received only one. A few said they would reply but never did. We went with Ambience Electrical; they have been a reliable contractor for us over the years. President Simmons agreed on their bid not to exceed $17,000. Unit was replaced the next day. I reached out to contractors to ensure that the bid was not excessive; all agreed it was in a normal range and quite fair.

EO basement wall is still moist and weeping. There was a concern the drains in the kitchen were clogging up but that problem seems to have abated. Once again, finding a contractor has been trying. I D Griffith has been out to the site and is supposed to do a scan to identify the problem. As of 8:27 AM July 8, the scan has not yet been done.

The original Wilmington Country Club opened up in1901 and is celebrating its 125th anniversary. Today this historic site operates as the Ed Oliver Golf Club. Check with the EO pro shop for a full array of activities on July 19. RMGC members are invited to a breakfast and to play golf at EO.
