Curbside Collection

All leaves should be properly disposed of into brown paper bags and placed next to your recycling on your regular recycle collection day.

Vacuum/Sweeper Collection

  • Large piles of leaves should be swept into the street, next to the curb.
  • City sweeper or vacuum trucks will collect the leaves from the street.
  • When possible, street cleaning will post signage the day prior to large volume leaf pickup.

Please note: Not all city streets can accomodate leaf vacuum services. In those cases, leaves should be placed into brown paper bags and placed next to your recycling for curbside collection on recycle days.

Private Contractors

If you use a private contractor to remove leaves from your property, please coordinate your leaf removal in accordance with the leaf collection schedule, or have your contractor bag your leaves in brown paper bags and place the bags at the curb on your recycling day.

Community Coordinated Leaf Cleanup Projects

To arrange a communitywide leaf cleanup and schedule collection, please call the Public Works Call Center prior to your event at (302) 576-3878.

Holidays

If collection day falls on a holiday, pickup will occur on the next leaf collection day.
