Canby Park, formerly known as Southwest Park, is named after William M. Canby, the New Castle County Park Commission President from 1893 to 1904, and Henry M. Canby, a member of the Park Commission from 1913 to 1928. The park is located in the 6th Councilmanic District and is bounded by Union Street, Oak Street, S. Clayton Street, Banning Street.
