VACANCY: Department of Police

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from high school or GED equivalency and experience dealing with procurement and dispersal of supplies and equipment; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

REQUIREMENT(S): Must pass a criminal background investigation, pre-employment physical, and drug test. Must possess a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.

NATURE OF WORK PERFORMED: Performs responsible work in the Police Department with regard to securing materials and supplies for all divisions of the department; does related work as required. Maintains and coordinates the ordering, receipt and dispersal of uniforms, equipment, office supplies and special orders as requested. Prepares written correspondence as needed. Maintains liaison with numerous agencies under contract to the City to ensure efficient delivery of materials.

EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED (Illustrative Only): Maintains and coordinates ordering, receipt and dispersal of all uniforms, equipment, materials and supplies for the department. Serves as liaison with numerous agencies under contract with the City to ensure efficient delivery of materials. Periodic inventory of supplies in order to stay abreast of the needs of the department, ensuring that those needs are met. Performs all related work as required.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Considerable knowledge of contractual specifications. Extensive knowledge of purchasing specifications. Ability to maintain a revolving inventory of assorted materials. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and various outside agencies; ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

RESIDENCY: City residency required within six months of employment.
