Post Date:02/01/2018 2:30 PM

Free monthly exhibition’s 2018 season opens tomorrow

Mayor Michael S. Purzycki and Acting City Cultural Affairs Director Tina Betz invite citizens to enjoy the first installment of the Wilmington Art Loop’s 2018 season which kicks off tomorrow evening, February 2, at dozens of venues in and around the City.

Now beginning its 30th year, the Wilmington Art Loop is a monthly, self-guided exhibition of visual art displayed at art galleries, studios, museums and alternative art spaces in and around Wilmington. The free event draws local and regional art lovers to the Downtown District and greater Wilmington area on the first Friday of each month. Some venues offer opportunities to meet the featured artists while enjoying refreshments and, in some cases, live entertainment is scheduled. The art is available for viewing throughout the month of November.

Art Loop Wilmington’s website – a hand-held guide to the Loop that is easily navigable by gallery location, artist or type of venue – can be reached here:

Step 1: Review the many gallery openings listed on the Art Loop Wilmington website and choose the openings you wish to attend.

Step 2: Map out your choices and personal route for the evening.

Step 3: Choose your method of transportation.
