Wilmington Mayor Mike Purzycki today announced a City partnership with Wilmington native and the Pittsburgh Steeler’s Quadree Henderson for a FREE, non-contact football camp that will be held this Saturday, July 21 at P.S. DuPont Middle School from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. The camp, entitled No Limit Hurricane Football Organization X Quadree Henderson, is open to boys ages 8 to 18. There are 20 camp slots open for City youth.
“I express my thanks and appreciation to Quadree on his inaugural football camp which will offer youth in and around Wilmington the opportunity to learn and develop fundamental athletic skills,” said Mayor Purzycki, “Quadree said the camp environment will foster healthy competition and teamwork. This is the second time this summer that young athletes from Wilmington will have had the chance to train with and learn from NFL-caliber athletes.”
Quadree Henderson, who is a native of Wilmington’s Hilltop neighborhood, said that the one-day camp on Saturday will teach fundamental football skills for all positions while instructing participants on proper technique and sportsmanship. “All of the boys will experience a fun-filled camp that consists of competitions, 7-on-7 games, drills and valuable coaching points,” said Henderson. “My team and I are really looking forward to meeting all of the kids and getting down to business this weekend.”
The 20 camp slots available for young athletes from Wilmington will be awarded on a first come, first-served basis starting today.
