Mayor Purzycki Wishes Wilmington a Happy Halloween

Mayor shares tips to ensure everyone has a safe October 31st.

October 31 is upon us, and while everyone enjoys a little scare on Halloween, Mayor Purzycki wants to help make sure that all of the excited young trick-or-treaters and their families have an enjoyable and safe evening.

“Halloween is a fun day for children and their families, and we want to make sure that everyone stays safe this year,” said Mayor Purzycki. “There are a number of simple yet effective steps that parents and their young ones can take to help reduce the risk of illness and injury. With these reminders, I hope this will be a happy and fun-filled Halloween night for all of our residents.”

“Remember also that pets aren’t accustomed to the extra noise and excitement of Halloween, so this day can be especially stressful for them,” the Mayor continued. “It’s important to keep our furry friends in mind too when making plans for the evening.”

Also, Wilmington Police Chief Robert Tracy and WPD Public Information Officer Stephanie Castellani remind residents that police will be on alert and urge motorists to watch out for the trick-or-treaters.
