City Government Offices will be Closed on January 1, New Year’s Day; Sanitation Collection Schedule is Adjusted;Christmas Tree Collection Schedule is Announced
Wilmington government offices will be closed on Tuesday, January 1in observance of the New Year’s holiday. The Department of Public Works will not collect recyclables west of I-95 on Tuesday, January 1, and will use the following adjusted schedule for the first week of 2019:
Monday 12/31/2018 East Of I-95 Recycling Collection
Tuesday 01/01/2019 No Collection/City Holiday
Wednesday 01/02/2019 West Of I-95 Recycling Collection
Thursday 01/03/2019 East Of I-95 Trash Collection
Friday 01/04/2019 West Of I-95 Trash Collection
The Public Works Department will collect Christmas trees on all designated collection days. Citizens may place their trees at the curb for collection minus any decorations, lights or tree stands. No artificial trees will be collected. Trees must be brought to the curb between 6 p.m. the day before collection and 4 a.m. the day of collection on their regularly scheduled trash or recycling days.
