Wilmington Storm Update: City Government Offices Closing at Noon

Storm expected to dump up to 4 inches on the City this afternoon

City of Wilmington government offices will close at Noon today, Wednesday, February 20, 2019, due to weather and deteriorating road conditions in the City and New Castle County. Essential personnel will remain on the job as scheduled.

The latest forecast from AccuWeather for the Wilmington area calls for a possible accumulation of up to four inches of snow this afternoon. Department of Public Works crews will continue to clear the City’s main arteries as well as secondary road surfaces throughout the afternoon and evening. Motorists are advised to use caution when driving.

Citizens should contact the City’s Public Works Call Center at 302-576-3878 with any questions or concerns regarding today’s storm or residential trash collection this week.
