Wilmington Mayor Mike Purzycki to Welcome Dunkin’ to the Downtown Business District
Beginning this Friday, Market Street is running on Dunkin' and everyone is invited to the Grand Opening
Wilmington Mayor Mike Purzycki will join owners Bhupen and Falguni Patel, City Council Member Michelle Harlee (4th District), Downtown Visions Executive Director Martin Hageman, and other invited guests for an 11:00 a.m. ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday, March 22, 2019, to officially open the City’s Wilmington’s newest Dunkin’, located at 701 North Market in the Downtown Business District. The new Dunkin’ is located in a refurbished historic building at Seventh and Market streets. To mark the occasion, Dunkin’ will be offering customers a 99-cent medium hot coffee or iced coffee from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., with proceeds benefiting The Wilmington Library. Also, customers who bring canned goods to donate to the Food Bank of Delaware will receive a free medium coffee. The grand opening celebration will also include a live DJ, face painting, raffles and prizes.
“We are pleased to welcome the Patel family to our growing Downtown District family,” said the Mayor, “and I am confident that Dunkin’ will be a fine addition to the many new eating and drinking establishments up and down Market Street. Downtown Wilmington continues to grow and thrive, emblematic of the many good things happening all around our City each and every day.”
The new Dunkin’ in Wilmington will keep people running with the Dunkin’ Brands beverage offerings, including high-quality, freshly-brewed hot and iced coffees, frozen Dunkin’ coffee, Cold Brew and Rainforest Alliance Certified™ Dark Roast, along with a Rainforest Alliance Certified™ espresso lineup that includes Americano, Cappuccino, Espresso, as well as Hot and Iced Lattes and Macchiatos. Dunkin’ will also serve a full menu of Premium Hot Teas, Coolatta® frozen beverages, delicious donuts, sandwiches and bakery goods that pair perfectly with the brand’s coffee beverages. All Dunkin’ menu items are available any time of day, and guests are encouraged to customize their favorite food and drinks.
In September, Dunkin' Donuts announced it would rename itself “Dunkin'” to reflect its increasing emphasis on coffee and other drinks. The latest Wilmington store features the new signage and name Dunkin’, and will be open seven days a week. It will also offer free Wi-Fi. With Dunkin’s On-the-Go Mobile Ordering, members of the DD Perks® Rewards Program can order in advance using their mobile phone, speed past the line and go straight to pick up when they get inside the restaurant.
