Mayor Purzycki Appoints Tamika Leveridge as Wilmington’s Deputy Finance Director
Newest member of City’s finance team served nine years with State of Delaware
Wilmington Mayor Mike Purzycki and City Finance Director Brett Taylor today announced the appointment of Tamika Leveridge as Wilmington’s Deputy Director of Finance. Leveridge joins City government after a nine-year career in finance and accounting with the State of Delaware and two years with the City of Philadelphia.
Leveridge was most recently a Fiscal Management Analyst with the Delaware Department of Transportation where she previously served as an Accounting Specialist. Prior to joining the Transportation Department, she was an Accountant with the State Department of Finance. Leveridge is a 2005 graduate of Temple University’s Fox School of Business and Management with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. She currently lives in Smyrna, but will be relocating to Wilmington in accordance with the City’s five-year residency requirement.
“We are pleased to welcome Tamika to City government and are delighted that she agreed to bring her finance and accounting skills and expertise to the City as part of our overall financial management team,” said Mayor Purzycki. “The City’s financial outlook has brightened in the last year or so, and Tamika is here to work with Brett Taylor and all of the Finance Department employees to help us make even more improvements in the management of the department and in the way we serve citizens.”
Leveridge began her new duties on Monday, April 22. Her annual salary is $105,000.
