Wilmington City Cineman presents Aquaman in Haynes Park

Mayor Mike Purzycki and Department of Parks and Recreation Director Kevin F. Kelley, Sr. invite children and their families to a FREE screening of Warner Brothers’ Aquaman this evening, Tuesday, July 2, in Haynes Park, at Miller Road and West 32ndStreet. The superhero film based on the popular DC Comics character will kick off the 2019 Wilmington City Cinema series. Films will be presented at 8:30 p.m. throughout the summer at various locations around the City through August 1.  All of the movies will begin at 8:30 p.m. FREE popcorn, snow cones, and water will be available to everyone in attendance.

“Wilmington will once again offer free, family-friendly movies in our parks throughout the summer,” said Mayor Purzycki. “It’s a wonderful opportunity for neighbors to get together, even if only for a couple of hours, in a beautiful, open-air setting. So bring a lawn chair or blanket, grab some popcorn, and enjoy some wonderful films with your family.”

Wilmington City Cinema is now in its sixth year. A complete move night schedule is included at the end of this news release. The Department of Public Works’ Water Division will also set up its water filtration station at select showings to offer moviegoers an opportunity to fill up their personal water bottles throughout the night for free with filtered, City-produced water.
