Mayor Mike Purzycki and Parks and Recreation Director Kevin F. Kelley, Sr. today invited citizens to attend a community celebration this Saturday, August 24 marking the grand reopening of the newly renovated Eden Park, at 901 New Castle Avenue in South Wilmington. The family-friendly event, which will begin at Noon and run through 3 p.m., will feature FREE food, drinks, and music as well a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 12:30 p.m.
“We are very excited to unveil the extensive $2.4 million renovation of Eden Park, which includes a new turf athletic field, swimming pool upgrades, new playground equipment, a refurbished picnic area, new walkways, and a resurfaced parking area,” said Mayor Purzycki. “This beautiful new park will provide additional and much-needed recreation opportunities for children and families. The new look of the park is already generating wonderful comments from people in South Wilmington, and we invite citizens from across the City to join us for Saturday’s celebration and prepare to be surprised at how beautiful Eden Park looks today.”
