Mayor Purzycki and Fire Chief Donohue Invite Citizens to Attend an Open House at Newly Renovated Fire Station 3
Three new pieces of fire apparatus will also be on display at the Northeast Wilmington station
Mayor Mike Purzycki and Fire Chief Michael Donohue today invited citizens to attend an Open House on Monday, September 16, between 2:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m., to tour the newly renovated Fire Station 3, located at East 30th Street and Northeast Boulevard. As part of the $1.7 million renovation – the first major overhaul in about a decade – Station 3 now has new sleeping quarters, an upgraded kitchen and living quarters, all new HVAC and lighting systems, as well as new gym equipment.
Also on Monday, three new pieces of fire apparatus will be available for inspection by the public for the first time, including a ladder truck and two engine trucks valued at about $2.5 million. There will also be other fire gear and equipment on display at Station 3.
