Wilmington’s Public Works Department and Delaware’s Transportation Department (DelDOT) have issued traffic advisories today affecting a southbound ramp onto Interstate 95 and a heavily traveled roadway in south Wilmington.
Here are the details:
Due to a leaking water main underneath the 10th Street overpass of Interstate 95 in Wilmington, the City has closed the southbound ramp to I-95 between 11th and 10th streets. The City is repairing the leak and hope to have the ramp opened later today. For the time being, motorists must travel further south on Jackson Street in order to access the Jackson Street ramp onto southbound I-95.
Due to the need to install a utility pipe, DelDOT will be closing a section of both South Market Street and South Walnut street at 9 p.m. this evening. The detour is scheduled to end at 5 a.m. on Monday morning. the utility installation is part of an on-going project to complete the approaches to the new Christina River Bridge. Walnut Street will be closed off from the North end of US 13 bridge to just before Blue Coats Drive and/or Access Road to Sportsplex. Market Street will be closed from the North end of US 13 bridge to just before Haul Road behind Shoprite. DelDOT will post detour signage for motorists.
