Mayor Announces Restrictions on Public Interaction in City Government Buildings

Wilmington Mayor Mike Purzycki announced today that additional steps are being taken to limit personal interactions inside city government buildings. While the City is open for business, the Mayor said it is important to limit personal interactions during the coronavirus pandemic to protect the public and City staff. The public is asked to conduct business with the City via telephone by calling 302.576.2620, or via the internet by accessing the City’s website at

If you must come into City offices, staff will be available on a limited basis to assist you. The City is taking steps to limit the number of employees that engage with the public.The Finance Department’s first-floor customer service area is open for all finance department transactions but is limited to window service only. The Mayor also announced today that the City has temporarily suspended the booting of vehicles for delinquent payments and is also suspending ticketing in neighborhood limited parking areas. Parking enforcement will continue at all metered spaces.
