City Government Offices Are Closed Tomorrow; Friday’s Recyclables Collection is Modified

Post Date:06/18/2020 12:30 PM

Wilmington City government offices will be closed on Friday, June 19, 2020, in honor of Juneteenth, an annual national observance marking the effective end of slavery in the United States.  Mayor Purzycki has announced a City-wide day of reflection for tomorrow to mark what is considered the longest-established African American holiday. As a result, the Department of Public Works’ Sanitation Division will modify its collection schedule for the remainder of this week as follows:

  • Friday, June 19: No collection of recyclables
  • Saturday, June 20:  Collection of recyclables for neighborhoods west of I-95
