WILMINGTON, DE – City officials participated in the Wilmington Senior Homeowner Repair Lottery Drawing to select City homeowners who registered for a chance to receive up to $10,000 for one major home repair. A total of 65 numbers were drawn during the lottery from a total of about 370 registered applicants. The winning numbers are included at the end of this release. You can rewatch a video of the lottery drawing here. The lottery was broadcast live on WITN TV (Channel 22 on Comcast) and online at www.witn22.org.
The winners must be a homeowner, currently living in the home as a primary residence. Winner’s household income must not exceed 100% of the Area Median Income and have not received assistance from Habitat for Humanity within the last three (3) years.
There was an age eligibility for Wilmington’s Senior Homeowner Repair Program, which was intended to ensure that funding is available to residents at least 65 years old on the day of the drawing. Winners will have their eligibility confirmed by the Department of Real Estate and Housing who will be mailing out award packages this week. Repairs could begin during the next few months.
The winning numbers were selected by: Coby Owens, 1st District Council Member; Zanthia Oliver, 3rd District Council Member; Michelle Harlee, 4th District Council Member; Maria D. Cabrera, At-Large Council Member; Alexander Hackett, At-Large Council Member; and James Spadola, At-Large Council Member.
