City Government Offices Will Be Closed Friday, July 4 for Independence Day; Trash Collection Schedule is Modified

Independence Day Sanitation Schedule 2025

Wilmington City government offices will be closed on Friday, July 4, 2025, in observance of Independence Day. As a result, the Department of Public Works’ Sanitation Division will collect trash on a modified holiday schedule:

  • Monday, June 30: East of I-95 trash collection
  • Tuesday, July 1: West of I-95 trash collection
  • Wednesday, July 2: East of I-95 recyclables collection
  • Thursday, July 3: West of I-95 recyclables collection
  • Friday, July 4: City holiday / NO collection
