Wilmington’s Public Works Department has compiled the attached list of streets on which construction or maintenance will occur this week by the City itself, or by either DelDOT, Delmarva Power, or private contractors. This information is for Monday, September 1, through Friday, September 12, 2025.
The City’s website contains a real-time map that is updated daily so you can follow any changes to the weekly schedule caused by weather or other construction-related delays. Public Works Commissioner Kelly Williams said every effort is made to compile the most accurate list each week of street projects that could affect your travel in the City the following week. She cautioned, however, that the time frames for the listed projects could be altered if they are delayed due to factors such as the weather.

Downtown Construction – The Press
Downtown motorists are reminded that North Orange Street between West 8th and West 9th streets will continue to see left lane restrictions and intermittent closures in the coming weeks as construction of The Press apartments nears completion.

Downtown Construction – Incyte
Downtown motorists are also reminded that North French Street remains closed to vehicle traffic between East 11th and East 12th streets due to ongoing construction on the former MBNA Buildings as part of the pending move to the site by Incyte.
