WILMINGTON - The City of Wilmington has again received a Aa2 (double A two) bond rating from Moody’s Investors Services. This rating indicates a strong capacity by the City to meet financial commitments, cash reserves to pay debts, and a stable local economy.
“Fiscal responsibility is what allows us to meaningfully invest in our communities and support the programs that matter most to our constituents,” said Mayor John Carney. “This rating shows that our approach is working. My team and I remain committed to responsibly managing taxpayer dollars and building on the City’s strong economic foundation.”
The City’s financial management group includes Mayor Carney, the Mayor’s Chief of Staff Cerron Cade, Finance Director Brett Taylor, Budget Director Rob Greco, and City Solicitor Rose Tassone-DiNardo, as well as City Department Directors who manage their departmental budgets.
