Wilmington’s Public Works Department has compiled the attached list of streets on which construction or maintenance will occur this week by the City itself, or by either DelDOT, Delmarva Power, or private contractors. This information is for Monday, April 13, through Friday, April 24, 2026.
The City’s website contains a real-time map [wilmingtonde.us9.list-manage.com] that is updated daily so you can follow any changes to the weekly schedule caused by weather or other construction-related delays.Public Works Commissioner Kelly Williams said every effort is made to compile the most accurate list each week of street projects that could affect your travel in the City the following week. Shecautioned, however, that the time frames for the listed projects could be altered if they are delayed due to factors such as the weather.

A number of traffic restrictions will be in place across Wilmington for the Delaware Marathon Running Festival on Sunday, April 19, 2026. Beginning at 6:30 a.m., motorists will experience traffic detours, road closures and/or runners on the roadway throughout the City. Impacted roadways include roads in the neighborhoods of the Riverfront, Compton Village, Midtown Brandywine, Brandywine Park, the Highlands, and the Delaware Art Museum areas. The following traffic restrictions will be in effect:
- Rosa Parks Drive will be closed to traffic for event activities
- South Market Street will be closed at MLK Jr. Boulevard
- King Street southbound traffic reduced to one lane from North Market Street
- North Park Drive will be closed between North Market Street and North Van Buren Street
- South Park Drive will be closed between North King Street and North Union Street
- Lovering Avenue will be closed between North Rodney Street and North Dupont Street
- Kentmere Parkway will be closed between North Union Street and Bancroft Parkway
- Bancroft Parkway will be closed between Kentmere Parkway and Pennsylvania Avenue
- Woodlawn Avenue will be closed between Delaware Avenue and Red Oak Road
- Tower Drive around Rockford Park will be closed
- West 19th Street will be closed between Brinkle Avenue and Tower Road
- Brinkle Avenue will be closed between West 19th Street and West 16th Street
- Tower Road will be closed between Pennsylvania Ave and West 19th Street
- All other impacted roadways will be open to vehicular traffic, but motorists should use caution due to the presence of race participants
