City Government Offices Will Be Closed Monday, September 7 for Labor Day; Trash Collection Schedule is Modified

Wilmington City government offices will be closed on Monday, September 7, 2026, for Labor Day. As a result, the Department of Public Works’ Sanitation Division will collect trash on a modified holiday schedule:

  • Monday, September 7: City holiday / NO collection
  • Tuesday, September 8: East of I-95 trash collection
  • Wednesday, September 9: West of I-95 trash collection
  • Thursday, September 10: East of I-95 recyclables collection
  • Friday, September 11: West of I-95 recyclables collection
