Play Streets Wilmington - August 2, 2022 at 7th & N. Harrison Streets

We hosted our 4th Play Streets event of the summer on August 2nd at 7th & N. Harrison Streets. Over 50 community members came out to enjoy the fun activities. The major activities featured were basketball, tennis, and an inflatable game with Delaware Blue Coats. We also brought cornhole, hula hoops, sidewalk chalk, double Dutch and jump ropes to the block. Shout out to Top Shelf Entertainment and DJ Cecil Bond for bringing fun music and organizing a few line dances for the community! Our special event was a tournament of the basketball game Knockout. Kids and adults showed off their basketball skills as they competed for Play Streets medals.

Event highlights:
• DJ Cecil Bond organized a few line dances where kids, adults, and community partners (shoutout Christiana Care!) got out on the dance floor. The star dancers were awarded medals.
• Community members of all ages got involved in the Knockout competition. Shoutout to the volunteers who helped organize the Knockout competition!
• Once again, water ice was a staple to beat the heat.
