About the Council

The Wilmington Economic and Financial Advisory Council (WEFAC) was created in 1994 and is composed of ten members appointed by the Mayor. Its membership consists of the City’s Director of Finance, the Chair of City Council’s Finance and Economic Development Committee, the City Treasurer, and a selection of business, academic, and financial leaders with multifaceted expertise and experience. WEFAC's primary functions are to advise the City on its revenue projections and to provide a sounding board on issues of urban economics.

Quarterly Meeting Archive

Per City Code, WEFAC meets quarterly to review the City’s revenue projections for the current fiscal year and the next five outyears. An archive of these revenue projections may be found below. Please note that meetings are held for the first, second, and third quarters of the fiscal year only. There is no year-end meeting.

Annual Budget Meeting Archive

During budget season, WEFAC holds a special meeting to certify the revenue projections underlying the proposed operating budget. The revenue projections from these meetings may be found below, and an archive of the City’s Annual Operating Budgets may be found here.
