Council Member At-Large Rysheema Dixon represents the city of Wilmington.Rysheema Dixon is the Chief Executive Officer & President of RD Innovative Planning. RD Innovative Planning is a community development consulting business that she founded in September 2011 after completing her two terms of service in Public Allies Delaware, an AmeriCorps program of the University of Delaware Center for Community Research and Service.

RD Innovative Planning is working toward creating a sustainable future for community members through organizing, projects and events to address their concerns and issues. RD Innovative Planning also advises entrepreneurs on how to start-up a small business and bring their idea to life.

Rysheema is originally from Philadelphia. She graduated in 2009 from the University of Delaware with a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology, and in 2013 graduated with a Master’s degree in Sustainable Development/International Policy and Management from School for International Training.

Rysheema serves on several coalitions and networks in the City of Wilmington and New Castle County. She was honored as one of the top 36 Women in Business in December of 2014 by Delaware Today Magazine and Technically Delaware named her one of the top 12 Women in Delaware shaping the Technology Scene in 2014. Rysheema was a finalist for the “Outstanding Service by an Entrepreneur” Award by the Jefferson Awards in April 2015.

She resides in Wilmington, Delaware and loves being involved in all levels of community engagement and civic leadership.

Rysheema’s motto is “Strong From the Ground Up.”

Council Member Dixon is Chair of the Community Development & Urban Planning Committee. She is also a member of the Health, Aging & Disabilities Committee and the Wilmington Cable, Video and Telecommunications Commission.
