In American cities today, the fastest growing types of parks are off-leash dog parks. The City of Wilmington has three locations where residents and visitors can enjoy the outdoors with their dogs. Each location can be found within the Wilmington State Park system, which runs through the center of the city.

Where to Go With Your Dog

Dogs are welcome throughout any Wilmington park, as long as the dog is kept on a leash. Dog owners must also pick up after their dog and dispose of the waste in the appropriate manner. Visit the Wilmington State Parks page or Chapter 3 of the Wilmington City Code to learn more about the rules surrounding the ownership of dogs in Wilmington.
