Free Nine-Session Program in Partnership With the Delaware Nature Society

Semester begins Monday, February 13; Apply by Wednesday, January 22

Mayor Mike Purzycki and Parks and Recreation Director Kevin Kelley invite city residents between the ages of 13 and 17 to apply for the spring semester.

Use the City of Wilmington Address Coding Guide to check if you reside within city limits.

Participants will complete six after-school sessions, one community service project, and one field trip as well as present at a closing ceremony. Each participant will also earn a $500 stipend.

The program provides:

  • Hands-on outdoor activities
  • Career exploration
  • Exposure to environmental issues
  • Mentoring

Parent/Guardian Permission 

I give permission for my child to participate in the Wilmington Youth Environmental Corps with the Delaware Nature Society. During the spring, the group will meet at the William "Hicks" Anderson Community Center, 501 N. Madison Street, Wilmington, Delaware 19801 on Thursdays from 4 to 7 pm and two Saturdays during the program. I also give permission for my child to participate in field trips with instructors from the Delaware Nature Society and partner organizations. I give permission for my child to be transported by Delaware Nature Society staff in a Delaware Nature Society van for the purpose of participating in academic programs. I agree that my child will be seat-belted while the vehicle is in motion.
