The Wilmington Police Department's Human Resources Division engages in recruitment efforts throughout the year in anticipation of when the next Police Academy will be held. Recruitment team members spread the word about the many career opportunities available to members of our agency as they work to identify individuals who might be interested in and qualified for a job in law enforcement. Formal Police Academy hiring processes commence once the department's manpower levels reach 95 percent of the overall authorized strength of 305.

We encourage anyone interested in learning more about career opportunities with our agency to reach out to our recruitment team by visiting our new online portal. One of our recruitment team members will be in touch with you, and we will notify you when the hiring process for our next Police Academy begins.
