Introduction from Chief Wilfredo Campos

I am pleased to present our agency’s sixth Year-End Report, which includes analysis of crime data and details about our initiatives and accomplishments throughout 2025.

We are proud to report continued, sustained reductions in major crime categories again in 2025 - with double-digit drops in murders, shooting incidents and shooting victims. Notably, 2025 saw the lowest number of shooting incidents in a single year since 2003. We have once again seen a decrease in overall Part 1 crimes, and saw decreases in all but one individual Part 1 crime category as well. We have also continued the trend of reducing misdemeanor theft incidents - like package thefts and thefts from vehicles. Also following a similar trend in previous years, our investigators continue to see sustained reductions in the share of shooting incidents and murders that are connected with group violence. While these reductions are noteworthy, we recognize there always remains more work to be done, and we will continue to leverage our proven crime reduction strategies and work relentlessly to make our neighborhoods even safer.

This past year also saw the continuation of our programs and initiatives that support our community - including our Partners in Care mental health co-responder program, weekly Community Outreach Walks and monthly Community Resource Fairs. We also continued to support a Wellness Program for our active and retired police officers and civilian employees; celebrated the graduation of a Police Academy class; and saw the launch of our latest class with the highest number of recruits in years.

I continue to be proud of the dedication and commitment of each of our police officers and civilian employees, and appreciate the support of our community and all of our partners. We look forward to building on this progress in 2026!
